Hypnobirthing altered my whole view of childbirth.
If the idea of giving birth worries you, you're definitely not alone. Before discovering I was pregnant, I avoided even thinking about childbirth, out of sheer terror. I thought it was just something you had to endure.
Things changed after I attended a Hypnobirthing class. My mind was BLOWN. In just one hour my whole perspective was altered. It felt like a revelation, as if the world had been keeping this a secret.
After leaving class, I was amazed. I kept speaking about it to everyone I knew and it didn’t stop there, throughout my pregnancy, I delved into hypnobirthing and explored childbirth extensively.
Those of you who have done Hypnobirthing will know this feeling - you are just like - WTF?!?! It’s soooo eye-opening and you just can’t wait to learn more.
I realised how societal conditioning through films and media ingrained a fear of birth in us, and this was something that is felt universally. Most of us have only ever seen birth on TV, often depicted as painful and traumatic.
Hypnobirthing, however, works to reprogram these subconscious fears ingrained by societal narratives through education and deep meditation.
While exploring Hypnobirthing, I found some aspects challenging. For instance, the idea of avoiding discussions about pain felt somewhat unrealistic to me. So, I sought educators who were comfortable addressing it. That's when I encountered various birthing methodologies, including active birth.
Applying everything I'd learned, I ended up having an incredibly fulfilling birth experience. Despite uncertainties, I felt calm and empowered throughout.
This experience ignited a passion for birth within me. I felt the fire ignite and I haven’t looked back. I developed my own birthing program incorporating what I'd learned and created a whole set of immersive meditations and breathing tracks.
One crucial element involves re-framing pain – acknowledging it but perceiving it differently, as a healthy sensation rather than an ailment. This perspective helped me embrace the sensations of labour.

Now, how exactly does hypnobirthing work?
The first step involves understanding the physiology of birth, fostering confidence in your body's natural ability. Through meditation and affirmations, hypnobirthing aims to reprogram the subconscious mind. It challenges the negative narratives ingrained by societal conditioning and replaces them with positive birth-related ideas.
It’s also about knowing and owning your rights so that you can advocate for yourself if needed.
Since becoming a doula, I’ve grown incredibly passionate about birth partners. That’s why my course includes bespoke tracks to train them up for the birthing journey too!
Hypnobirthing will revolutionise the way you perceive childbirth forever. Honestly, I believe it should be taught in schools. We shouldn’t wait until we’re faced with a literal deadline in pregnancy to figure all this out. It should be ingrained in us—it’s, after all, one of the most important things we’ll ever do on this earth.
When should you start? ASAP. Some practitioners suggest waiting so it’s all fresh, but I say, don’t wait. Start now to build unshakable confidence in yourself and your birthing body. There’s so much to unlearn and learn, so give yourself as much time as possible to grasp and practice the techniques.
Testimonials: “I just gave birth yesterday having used your comb and Birth Box course, I was 4cm and didn't even realise it as I had my breathing under so much control, I only used gas and air, the comb and breathing techniques and birthed my baby!

Thank you! I forgot to mention, that the meditation called 'labour listening experience' was soo powerful for me during labour, I cried just listening to it as I felt it was perfect in the moment! Thank you!”
