The Final Push raspberry leaf tea is blended with whole raspberry leaf and peppermint. Drink from 32 weeks pregnant to help prepare you to meet your baby. Linked to shorter 2nd stage labour and fewer interventions in birth.
Does raspberry leaf bring on labour?
If you're overdue and reading this, sorry, but no! There is no evidence to show that drinking raspberry leaf when you're overdue will bring on labour although it gets spoken about a lot. However, there is much better research to show that drinking raspberry leaf tea can lead to a shorter second stage of labour (where you push) and fewer interventions in birth. It is not guaranteed, but small scale studies in Australia show that statistically, raspberry leaf tea seems to help women.
When is it safe to drink raspberry leaf from?
NHS guidelines are to wait until 32 weeks at the earliest to drink any raspberry leaf tea. Some NHS trusts even say to wait until 35 or 36 weeks. However, all research studies into raspberry leaf start from 32 weeks. We recommend starting with 1 cup a day, and building up to 2 cups and then 3 cups a day when you're 35 weeks. From this point on, drink until your baby arrives! It can even help you recover as it will speed up the movement of your uterus back to its normal position! So do pop some Final Push raspberry leaf tea into your hospital bag.
What percentage of raspberry leaf is in The Final Push Raspberry Leaf tea?
It is 40% raspberry leaf and 60% peppermint. This is because the type of plastic free, biodegradable tea bag we use, cannot fit any more raspberry leaf into it! But also because it makes the right balance of flavour and taste. The peppermint is delicious but it also helps to aid digestion, which at the end of pregnancy can be hard! And it can also help with heartburn which is a common problem in the third trimester.
