5 Yoga Poses to Feel Empowered
International Yoga Day falls on the 21st June every year. The theme this year is: 'Yoga for self and society', to promote the balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and fulfilment.
The amazing Mel Webb from @Karma_Beauty has put together 5 yoga poses which only take five minutes, and will hopefully help you to feel empowered, calm and reinvigorated. 🧘♀️🌈☀️
Easy Pose
✨Easy Pose - can help calm the brain, reduce anxiety, and relieve mental and physical fatigue.
Mountain Pose
✨ Mountain Pose - to improve posture and body awareness. It will build strength in your legs, and establish good alignment.
Downward Dog
✨ Downward Dog - to stretch and widen the hamstrings, the calves, and the achilles tendon. In a downward dog, your head is lower than your heart, so it improves the blood flow through your body.
Reclining Deer Pose
✨Reclining Deer Pose - is energising, de-stressing, and relaxing. It helps to open the deeper tissues around the hips, pelvis, and groin, where it is believed that we store a lot of tension, worries and inhibitions in our bodies.
Reclining Butterfly Pose
✨Reclining Butterfly Pose - to loosen your lower back, hips, and inner thighs. It can help to alleviate upper and lower back pain.
