Should I take raspberry leaf capsules or raspberry leaf tea?
It can be difficult to know the pros and cons of drinking raspberry leaf tea compared to taking raspberry leaf tablets, so here's a list of things to consider...
Raspberry leaf capsules
Thee are great if you really hate hot drinks or herbal tea. Our Final Push tea has a primarily mint flavour, and the capsules remove this if it's an issue for you.
Raspberry leaf capsules contain a lot of unnatural ingredients which make it harder for your body to absorb the raspberry leaf itself. Microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, anti-caking agent and phosphates.
You need to take 2 capsules per day - this dosage becomes the equivalent of 3 cup of tea a day.
Raspberry leaf tea
As a tea, your body can easily absorb the active fragerine compound which has been shown in studies to stimulate uterine muscles. It's much easier for your body to access this in tea form, compared to a capsule.
Our Final Push tea is 100% natural and organic, with no flavourings, additives or stabilisers, so you get the pure flavour and benefit.
A hot cup of tea can naturally boost your body's oxytocin level, giving a comforting hug in a mug. This can also contribute to your birth preparation as oxytocin is the one hormone you want to keep increasing.
It will keep you hydrated - an added bonus of taking a tea instead of a capsule!
You can start drinking from 32 weeks of pregnancy, though it's always best to check with your midwife who knows your exact circustances.
