How many cups of tea can I drink when....?
A question that we often get asked is 'How many cups of tea can I drink when...' here is our guide for all... Pregnancy, Postpartum, Periods and Perimenopause.
Pregnancy
The NHS recommends drinking no more than three cups a day of any one herbal tea blend during pregnancy.
Our Morning Rescue is great if you are suffering from morning sickness and nausea. It contains anti-inflammatory herbs to soothe your tummy, ease heartburn and indigestion. It can be drunk during all trimesters.
Caffeine also needs to be limited during pregnancy, as too much caffeine can affect your baby's growth and development. The NHS' guidelines state that you should have no more that 200mg of caffeine per day.

Postpartum
During the early postpartum days you might be trying to establish breastfeeding. Our Milks' Up tea contains ingredients that have traditionally been used to support breastfeeding. We would recommend drinking 3 - 4 cups of Milk's Up, for the full benefits. Each of the tea bags can be brewed twice. So make sure not to throw them away, and re-brew for a little longer for your second cup.
If you are reintroducing caffeine into your diet, Head Start is a great option as it will give you a gentle more prolonged boost of caffeine, to help start your day. The white tea contains a compound called L-theanine that gives you the caffeine boost, but without the negative side effects that an instant boost that coffee might give.
Again the NHS recommends that you have no more than 200mg a day. This is because small traces of caffeine will transfer to your breast milk.
